Hello! I'm David a 30-year-old web designer, developer and internet marketing consultant with around 10 years experience.
I have worked remotely with a global clientèle helping everyone from charities, lawyers, logistics companies, personal coaches, other SEO gurus and many other people across varying market sectors.
I also work training people on how to use their marketing tools to the best effect and during that process have learnt a lot. One of the main things I have realised is that digital marketing is truly is a labyrinth of information.
The aim of Mazepress is to help decipher the information available covering various areas of building your business online from how to use WordPress, build your own website and how to run your own business employing productivity tools and automation to your workflow.
Using this website my aim is to help people who don't have the budget to outsource everything and are also eager to learn about all of the processes involved with running a web business or marketing your bricks and mortar company online.
Pre-Credit crunch 2007 I had grown tired of the opportunities available in the marketplace for college dropouts or people with little work experience and since I had no idea as to what I wanted to do I decided to start working for myself and selling swimming pools and hot tub jacuzzis on a drop-shipping basis during the golden era of eBay.
I was ordering the products from China and selling them to people in Europe and the United Kingdom at the time when it the exchange rate would get me $2 for every £1 spent and buying a product from a country who had a preference for US Dollars.
It was working, in fact, it was amazing, people were happily giving up £10,000 over eBay with little vetting and entrusting me for 7 weeks since the product was bespoke and 7 weeks was the lead / delivery time.
Fast forward about a year and the recession began to take hold and despite the usual notion that luxury products are not effected, this was no ordinary recession and I quickly realized that this was no longer going to be a viable business for the foreseeable future.
Fortunately using the dropshipping business model meant there was no stock and no tangible overheads and so it didn't mean it was a complete disaster, hell no failure is! Back to the drawing board, I began to hypothesise about what my next move was and it turned out to be something that would boom during the recession.
Web design and internet marketing allow people more affordable marketing and a greater reach and between 2008 and 2012 during the worst period of the credit crunch and global recession, there was a big shift in companies and individuals needing to be more marketing savvy and adopt digital marketing techniques and growth hacking increasingly over traditional print advertising and other old tactics.
Surplus to say I have not been out of work since, in fact, I have been too busy to stop and create this website to detail my journey and help others looking to become location independent, build a web business or improve their existing online marketing strategies without the usual 4 to 5 figure budgets.
Until 2015 that is, when I finally got my ideas together and launched Mazepress a place to help WordPress webmasters build, design, manage and market their websites, products and services online.
Over the years I have been involved with several different ventures as a partner and gained a lot of experience with different web business models which give me great insight into what works and what doesn't.
